FINAL GRADUATION EXAM 

 

The final test, to which 24 or 30 CFU are attributed depending on the curriculum, consists in the discussion before an examination board, appointed by the President of the School, of a dissertation on a subject agreed between the student and the supervisor of one of the disciplines present in the discipline study plan (foundation, characterizing, related or supplementary or elective) in which 12 or 6 CFUs, have been achieved. In case only 6 CFUs have been achieved, the President of the Degree program must receive a request for authorization via the appropriate form below. The student can submit his or her thesis request to their supervisor with a maximum debt of 36 CFUs still to be obtained (excluding the 24 or 30 CFU of the final dissertation depending on the curriculum).
The students are expected to produce original work, in which they will show high-level analytical and synthesis skills. The assessment of the final exam will take into account the students’ career in reference to their weighted grade average A maximum increase of six points above the weighted average can be achieved, with the addition of 1 point, in case the student graduated within the end of the normal two-year cycle.
For the Italian-French Bilateral Curriculum, students can discuss the thesis at either University with a supervisor from one of the two partner Universities and a co-supervisor from the other. At least one teaching staff member from the partner university will be required to participate in the Examination Board.

The form must be signed by the student and the supervisor and then sent to the Student Academic Career Office (elisabetta.cigni@unifi.it,scuola@st-umaform.unifi.it) and to the President of the Degree Program.
